Enter a Gregorian birth year for a quick position in the repeating 12-animal cycle. This tool is a starting point only. January and February birthdays must be checked against the Lunar New Year date for that year.

Your result will appear here.
How the result is calculated
The tool uses 2020 as a Rat-year reference and moves through the 12-animal sequence one year at a time. Adding or subtracting 12 returns to the same cycle label. It does not send or store the year you enter.
Why January and February need another check
The Chinese zodiac year follows the Lunar New Year boundary, not January 1. If the birthday falls before Lunar New Year, the preceding cycle sign may apply. Verify the complete date with a dated calendar table before saving or sharing the result.
Check the Hong Kong Observatory Gregorian-Lunar conversion resources, or use the full birth-date guide.
Use the label responsibly
A zodiac label is cultural context, not a diagnosis or a guaranteed personality description. Open the related sign guide for reflection questions, then compare those prompts with real behavior and current circumstances.
